Come on down to the Kettle of Fish

Are you within shouting distance of New York City? Are you tired of having to do your own reading? Would you like someone to read to you? Then come on down to the Kettle of Fish tonight (Wednesday, June 25) at 7PM.

I'll be reading from my new book, Women in Hats, and generally having fun. I'm bringing my daughter along, so this night will also be known as Baby's First Bar.

I would love to have been at Kettle of Fish but not being close, couldn't. It would have been so nice to have met you before suggesting "...and Baby Makes Two" as a selection for my book club for 2008/09. We will read it between Oct. and May, Sept. is "Mary, Mrs. A. Lincoln" and June is potpourri of summer reading suggestions.
Ed(my husband) and I are so sorry about your Dad too. Bill was a good man and genuinely nice, much like his Dad,Pete. We will miss him at the family weekend in Roanoke, Va.
Oh, I suppose that I should explain our relationship. My grandmother, Marie Shank Herley, and your grandmother, Loretta (Ret) Shank Sheehan were sisters.
I am delighted to be reviewing a relatives novel for our group that has been together, with some losses and some additions, for more than 30 years, way before Oprah started her book club.

I am scheduled to review "...and Baby Makes Two" on the 4th Thursday of January. Everyone knows where to purchase the book and I want you to know that I would not ask, or even accept, free books for the club (just in case you the thought crossed your mind).
Also, If you are as Irish as some of the rest of the clan a little fact for you: My grandaughter, Maeryn, was born at 1:30 PM July 10th 2008, only a few hours after Bill left this earth.
Also, since your parents were contemporaries on my parents I did not know them well until the cousin weekends (yes, here in the south we claim until we can't subtract anymore) aand then not well but I can hear your father and see your father in Howard. Your Mom? Well, I hope she was different from Betty and remember a question about my friend whos has an only child who is gay. She asked if Jane, My friend, accepted her son and how she was dealing with his sexuality.
